In this 3 day trek, away from the bustle of Marrakech, we will take you through the awe-inspiring panoramas of the Atlas mountains, crossing mountain Passes and into ancient Berber villages the ethnic minority communities to stay with local people and Indulge in a delicious traditional meal prepared with locally sourced ingredients creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Itinerary
Day 1 Marrakesh – Ouirgane – ASSIF ZAGZAWN
8:30 am Depart by taxi (1 hr drive) from Marrakech to Ouirgane Valley 1000m (one of Morocco’s popular hiking centers) where your walk will begin). Hike (with lunch en route) passing through different mountain landscapes down towards the village of Assif Zagzawn You will spend the night in a local family home where supper is served by your Berber host

Day 2 ASSIF ZAGZAWN –TIZINTAGHRHOURTE -DKENT
After breakfast we set off on our hike up along the Assif n’Ouissadene Valley passing through the walnuts groves up to Tizi n’Taghrhourte (1995m). We continue through a rare, almost flat stretch to arrive at Assaka spring where we will stop for our wild picnic amidst the silence nature provides.
After some 2 and half hours relatively easy walking, our afternoon’s hike takes us down along the edges of the forest until we reach the Berber Village of D’knt (1870m) or Agounss n´Assoul where we will stay for the night.
Day 3 DKENT –TIZIN TAGDALTE- Tizi oussem (1850m)
After breakfast, we begin our 3 hours hike up through groves of walnut trees and fields of corn and barley. On today´s path and track, we will have a lot of opportunities to practice our basic Berber language skills and get into the chat with the many sheep and goat herders, women, and children that we will meet. We traverse the Tizi n’tagdalte to the descent amongst the juniper trees. We come to a small spring hidden amongst the trees where we will stop for our picnic. After a refreshing stop, we continue our walk and after 3 hours we come to a small river at the beginning of the valley Assif n’ait oussaden. From here we enter the village Tizi Oussem (1850m) and then up to the summer village Of Tamsoult to our night accommodation to have a rest and enjoy dinner..

Day 4 Tizi Oussem- TAMSOULT-IGHOULIDEN WATERFAKKS- TIZI MZZIK-IMLIL
Today involves a fantastic limb out of the Azzaden valley we will head up the valley towards the summer village Of Tamsoult from where you will head up to Ighouliden waterfalls before trekking back over Tizinmzzik pass(2489M) before descending down into Imlil to meet our driver and return to Marrakech.
